I am a fully qualified counsellor / psychotherapist, I hold an honours degree in counselling and psychotherapy. I am also a fully accredited Member of IACP (Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). In addition, I have experience and qualifications in a number of areas including Child and Adolescent Counselling, Mindfulness, Workplace Burnout and Assist. I have also completed a number of workshops in Family Constellations and I have extensive experience in solution focused therapy.
I also have a degree in Social. I have over 20 years’ experience working with adolescents. I worked for some years in the residential care sector, specifically with young people aged between 10 and 18. I also volunteered at a centre for the prevention of self-harm and suicide for over 2 years. Through my work I can relate and counsel young people from a wide variety of backgrounds/family structures and I have experience in dealing with challenging behaviour, anger management issues as well as self- harm and suicidal ideations, identity and sexual orientation crisis, issues with low self-esteem / confidence and social isolation.
I also offer help in a number of other areas including: fostering/adoption issues, relationships issues, grief, stress management, spirituality, multi-cultural issues and mood/anxiety management.
